Darvin unveils new Bassett Design Center

ORLAND PARK, Ill. — Top 100 retailer Darvin Furniture & Mattress cut the ribbon on its new Bassett Design Center on March 10.

Located in the heart of the Darvin showroom, the redesigned Bassett DesignCenter highlights the design options that Bassett has to offer. The gallery is designed to inspire the newest trends as well as feature the timeless style the furniture brand is known for.

“As a top source for Bassett furniture in Chicagoland, we recognize how important our decades of partnership with Bassett have been,” said President Will Harris. “Darvin Furniture experienced a vast increase in sales with the Bassett line in 2021, and we are looking forward to a great 2022.”

Jill Wirig, Darvin’s vice president of merchandising, said one of the most important changes is highlighting the custom upholstery display area where customers can fully explore the breadth of the Bassett brand.

“At Darvin, we not only stock top sellers, but we also excel at customization. Our re-imagined Bassett DesignCenter puts one of the most distinctive features of Bassett at the forefront,” Wirig said. “The ability to customize their furniture selection from different styles of arms, backs and legs, as well as their choice of beautiful and functional fabrics, gives our Darvin customers the opportunity to design specifically for their home adding to the overall customer experience.”

According to Wirig, the 3,500-square-foot Bassett Gallery features popular and hard-to-find custom motion furniture and other high-quality pieces.

“At Darvin, we are very selective of the vendors we partner with when it comes to brand selection for our customers. Bassett has always been committed to quality and service and, like Darvin, we both have been doing that for more than 100 years,” Wirig said. “We have generational customers who shop at Darvin, and with Bassett, we know we have a partner who has our same commitment to customer satisfaction.”

Blair Kodat, Bassett manufacturer’s rep, said the beauty of the partnership between Darvin and Bassett is that the two iconic brands have both been thriving for over a century.

“Our brand emphasizes the importance of quality and style with a plethora of product that has endless custom capabilities and is handcrafted by our very own artisans in Virginia and North Carolina,” said Kodat. “The refresh on the Darvin gallery allows us to stay on trend with design elements and continue to offer the latest innovations and styles trending in the industry.”
